Do you remember Dougal? Don't you think the Wensleydale sheep are the Dougal dog of the sheep world? Apart from being so cute and cuddly, their fleece makes one of the most beautiful yarns I've come across. It's silky, soft and lightweight and holds colour beautifully when dyed. I use hand dyed yarn from Lamington Lass Yarns based in Lewes, UK. She creates a luminous range of colours using acid dyes available from her Etsy shop. You can also get this yarn direct from the Wensleydale Mill here. The Wensleydale is a rare breed sheep, please help keep this gorgeous animal gracing our countryside by using this yarn.
